Antoine Bouzonnet-Stella

Antoine Bouzonnet-Stella, (or Bousonnet,) called A. Stella, was the nephew of Jacques Stella, and was born at Lyons in 1634. He was instructed by his uncle in the rudiments of design, and is said to have been a reputable painter. For his picture of 'The Pythian Games ' he was in 1666 received a member of the Royal Academy at Paris, where he died in 1682. We have a few etchings by him, among which is 'Moses defending the Daughters of Jethro,' after Poussin.
